Our Home School Program at Up Before Sunrise is a program that is designed to help your child in "Rising To Achieve Academic Success." We offer the alternative to placing your child in the Public School System. This program was designed with working families in mind. We offer tutoring schedules that allow you to provide your child with the benefits of having a one-on-one tutor, in a small learning class while still being able to work your normal work schedule. For our parents who are already home schooling, our program can provide you with the socialization that your child needs.
Statistics show that on average a Home Schooled child performs on a grade higher than if they were in Public School or Private School. Our program also allows them to socialize with a small group of peers on a daily basis and with other on field trips and outing.
You have two options for the complete school year curriculum and supplemental materials. You will be provided with progress reports and semester report cards. Your child will have a curriculum that supports their specific learning style as well as utilizing a variety of other techniques. The curriculum is based off of the GA State Public School District Standards. We then add and modify it as needed to suit your specific needs.
Your child is able to participate in a wide variety of Enriching Electives that the Public School System may or may not provide. If they do, it is in a large setting, where they may get lost in the crowd. The one-on-one instruction that they receive within our small groups allows them to feel more comfortable and confident to learn new things.
Classes will begin on August and end in May. You may join our program at anytime.
We will provide you with a list of the textbooks that will be utilized.
All supplemental materials are provided with your weekly fee. Some of these materials may include additional workbooks, reading books and art supplies. On occasion, you may be required to purchase your own materials. For example, a set of counting bears for home to assist in the learning of basic addition and subtraction.
A cumulative education record is kept for each student enrolled in our home school program. Students will receive two progress reports and two report cards.
Every Friday is “Fun Friday”. Students are allowed to bring an item to share with the class during “Sharing Time”.
